Culterim | Window Show #1 – Somatica

Culterim | Spaces presents Somatica, a visceral series by Berlin-based artist Stas Leontyev, exploring the physical imprint of emotional pain.
Created through large-scale, performative gestures, the works trace how trauma inhabits the body across generations—manifesting as tension, panic, inherited shame, and guilt. Executed in black acrylic on long human-scale paper sheets, the pieces are both abstract and bodily, mapping a cycle of internal struggle and release. A video work accompanies the exhibition, documenting the raw, ritualistic process behind each mark.
The exhibition is installed in Culterim | Rossmann, a storefront space with personal resonance for the artist, located close to where many of the experiences behind the works occurred. Somatica marks the first in the new Window Show series—community-driven artistic interventions made visible from the street between major exhibitions.
